Little Rock (KATV) is all set to kick off their much-anticipated annual Coats for Kids community campaign on Saturday, December 7. This year, the campaign is being sponsored by Arkansas Surgical Hospital and their new non-profit partner, Our House homeless shelter. The campaign will run from December 7 to January 1, providing donors with ample time to contribute new and gently used coats. It is important to note that donors should launder their donations before dropping them off. While the campaign is specifically named Coats for Kids, coats of all sizes for both children and adults are in great demand. The collected coats will be delivered to Our House homeless shelter, enabling them to distribute them among their various programs such as housing, career center, early child development, after school programs, and more. Why This Campaign Matters
During the cold winter months, having a warm coat can make a world of difference for those in need. Our House homeless shelter serves a crucial role in providing support and resources to individuals and families facing homelessness. By donating coats through this campaign, we can directly contribute to helping them stay warm and comfortable. It is not just about providing a physical item but also about showing kindness and solidarity with those who are less fortunate. This campaign is a great opportunity for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of others.Benefits of Donating Coats
Donating coats offers several benefits. Firstly, it helps to keep the homeless and those in need warm during the winter. Coats act as a barrier against the cold and can prevent hypothermia and other health issues. Secondly, it gives a sense of purpose and satisfaction to the donors. Knowing that their contribution is making a difference in someone's life can be incredibly rewarding. Additionally, by supporting Our House homeless shelter, donors are also helping to address other aspects of their programs such as housing, career development, and early childhood education. It is a comprehensive way to contribute to the well-being of the community.Impact on the Community
The impact of this Coats for Kids campaign extends beyond just providing coats. It helps to build a stronger and more compassionate community. When people see others coming together to help those in need, it inspires them to get involved and make a difference themselves. It creates a ripple effect of kindness and generosity that can have a lasting impact on the community. By working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those who are facing difficult circumstances. This campaign is a testament to the power of community action and the importance of helping one another.
