Reconstruction and Setbacks
In March, a small fire ravaged the newly renovated interior of the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center. This unfortunate event required extensive repairs, including new drywall, carpets, and some seats. The reconstruction process began in May, with the Ormond Beach City Commission allocating $626,297 for the restoration. The renovation itself was a seven-year endeavor that cost nearly $2 million, transforming the center into a modern and inviting space. However, the fire and subsequent COVID-19 pandemic have been significant setbacks, preventing the center from operating at full capacity since 2020.Despite these challenges, the center is now ready to make a comeback. The renovation work has been completed, and the box office opened on November 5th. The building will be fully open for the first time on the night of the first performance, "Finding Nemo" on December 6th.Upcoming Performances
"Finding Nemo, a production from local Children’s Musical Theatre Workshop, will kick off a series of shows for the holiday season and beyond. This musical tells the story of a little orange fish with white stripes trying to find his way home and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
