The Port Clinton High School Drama Club is all set to showcase its remarkable student production of “The Wizard of Oz” at specific times and locations. Performance Details

The Port Clinton High School Drama Club will present “The Wizard of Oz” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. These performances will take place at the PCHS Performing Arts Center, providing an immersive theatrical experience for the audience.

Tickets for the show will go on sale prior to the event in the PCHS Main Office or at the box office before each performance. The ticket price is $10 each, offering great value for an evening of entertainment.

The Story and Characters

In this adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic tale, Dorothy, played by Lydia Roberts, finds herself in the enchanting land of Oz. Determined to return to her home in Kansas, she embarks on a journey down the famous yellow brick road. Along the way, she meets a diverse group of characters, including the Scarecrow played by Quinn Felnbinger, the Tinman played by Evelyn Gibson, and the Lion played by Aeryn Mackey.

They travel to the Emerald City to meet the Great Oz, played by Kai Weit. However, their encounter with Oz takes an unexpected turn when he demands a steep price for Dorothy's return home. This sets off a new and perilous adventure that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

The cast also includes the Wicked Witch of the West, played by Makenzee Jadwisiak, the Witch of the North, played by Emma Rose Johnson, and Glinda, played by Gabrielle Heilmann. Other notable cast members are the Guardian of the Gat, played by Keegan Lukac, the Winged Monkey King, played by Gabe Depner, and ensemble members Alisha Allen, Aidan Burton, Maddison Calebrese, Emma Rose Johnson, Jacqueline Libben, Alexia Luzader, Audrey Messa, Lily Mincer, Jocelyn Rohde, Ella Schwable, Marissa Swanson, and Gabriella Woerner.

The Backstage Team

The success of the production is not only due to the talented cast but also the hardworking backstage team. The stage manager, Emily Boykin, ensures that everything runs smoothly on stage. The stage crew, including Finnegan Astley, Gabriel Garza, Brooke-Lynn Lattimore, Tristan Minney, Aaliah Orosco, and Evan Roberts, work behind the scenes to set up and manage the stage.

The light crew, consisting of Camiah Baker, Corrine Baker, Lorelei Fall, and Dylan Lukac, creates the perfect lighting effects to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the show. The sound crew, led by William Osborne, provides the appropriate sound cues to bring the story to life.

Drama Club adviser and director Katherine Hansen plays a crucial role in guiding the cast and crew throughout the production process.
