Text to speech audio articles have become a reality thanks to the remarkable Quest Grant at Yavapai College. This initiative offers tuition-free industry-recognized certificates, paving the way for a successful career. Mark O’Connor, a renowned figure in the music world, began his journey under the tutelage of American fiddling legend Benny Thomasson and French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli. As an Appalachian-born violin prodigy, he cherished the Christmas holidays as a time to connect with local musicians and perform cherished Christmas music. In his teens, he had the honor of performing for President Reagan at the White House. Over the years, he merged his diverse influences to create a new American classical music, continuing his vision of an American School of String Playing. The New York Times praised his “unfinished trajectory, from largely self-taught fiddle player to concert-hall virtuoso and classical composer.” An Appalachian Christmas showcases Mark O’Connor and his wife Maggie O’Connor, delivering fresh arrangements of Christmas classics.
