After the significant Tuesday ruling from the West Virginia Supreme Court regarding high school football playoffs, the much-anticipated games are set to kick off this weekend. The WVSSAC's email stated that this announcement follows the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia vacating injunctions issued by two circuit courts, thereby reaffirming the WVSSAC's authority to oversee and implement its rules for interscholastic athletics. The point system that was in place throughout the regular season (prior to the injunctions) will be utilized to determine the playoff fields and matchups.
