Although he didn't secure the position with the 76ers, this experience led him to discover a new calling: announcing children's sports at Vaughan Hall, a role he embraced for decades.

For 30 years, Kalb continued to announce games at Vaughan Hall, alongside his work as a substitute teacher at the Neeta School.
